Year 3 Egyptian Day

03 Oct 2017

Year 3 enjoyed a fascinating and insightful day learning all about life in Ancient Egypt.  The children learned about gods and goddesses and the afternoon was spent in a spellbinding, dramatic role-play depicting the death ritual for a prince.  Each child enjoyed dressing up and using a range of props and they were mesmerised with the whole scene involving a mummy with a death mask and artefacts from Egypt, all lit with realistic, flickering fire torches. Authentic music added to the solemn atmosphere.  It was a wonderful day which we will all remember for a long time…….. well, for the exams, at least, we hope!
