U9 Girls and Boys at the Copthill Cross Country Competition

The Under 9 cross country team went to the Copthill event on a very pleasant afternoon. The course was a really good one, with numerous obstacles to negotiate. The girls ran first and a fast pace was set by Georgie. As the runners came back into view after a time out in the country, Georgie was still in front closely followed by Sam, Eloise and Ella. These excellent placings ensured that the girls were worthy winners of the team event. The other two members of the team who ran exceptionally well were Minna and Lottie who, as members of Year 3, were running against older girls.
The Witham boys’ team also ran well; particular mention goes to Xander who came fifth out of over seventy competitors. The other boys were very consistent with Harry, Hector and Arthur finishing in the twenties and Fred and Felix making noteworthy performances.
