Witham U10 vs. Kimbolton

14 May 2019

Witham Hall 19-6 Kimbolton

Friday’s games session turned into an afternoon of matches for our girls’ rounders teams. After a week of rain, the sun came out, foreshadowing the afternoon to come. Batting first, the girls set the base for what Kimbolton needed to achieve. Not only did the girls bat well but they also played tactically and gained ten rounders against their name. In their half of fielding, the girls outshone themselves and pulled out skills they had only been taught that afternoon. Quick hands, great catching and strong passes meant that Witham both limited Kimbolton’s chances to score and stumped many of their players out. With Kimbolton finishing their first innings on two rounders, our girls could start the next innings with confidence. As expected, the second innings went just as successfully as the first. The girls made a few mistakes with some risks not paying off but with their continued strength in both batting and fielding left them scoring a further nine and conceding only four more rounders. Overall the afternoon was very successful and they made themselves proud. The final score finished at 19-6 to Witham, reflecting all the hard work and skill that the girls had demonstrated all afternoon. Keep it up, girls!
