01 Oct 2019
Witham Hall School parents, pupils, staff and visitors all helped to raise over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning campaign at the end of September. The event, jointly organised by parents and staff, saw an incredible number of cakes donated and over 150 people attend to enjoy them throughout the day. The money raised will go to help support people with cancer live life as fully as they can.
Chair of the Friends of Witham, Zoe Howells, who helped organise the event, commented, ‘This is the third Macmillan Coffee Morning we have held and hope to make it an annual event as it is a great way for our whole school community to join together to support a wonderful cause.’
Headmaster, Mr Charles Welch, added, ‘Our charitable work is a very important part of Witham Hall life, and our commitment to Macmillan is one that means a lot to the School. The way in which pupils, staff and parents support this wonderful cause on this day - be it through baking, donating or purchasing - is truly reflective of our desire to support others, be it close to home, nationally, or in our work overseas.’
