Boarders returned to Witham Hall following the two-week half-term break to what will be a busy second half of term. Boarders were immediately tasked with helping to prepare for the annual fireworks evening, lining the School driveway with individually carved pumpkins. Boarders also helped put together the Guy for the bonfire. Stuffed with copious amounts of newspaper, the more challenging element of the task was to make the polystyrene head seem remotely lifelike. Boarders also enjoyed creating their own craft fireworks out of coloured paper plates ahead of the real event, with the final masterpieces put on display in the main reception. A toffee apple and hot chocolate finish ensured energy levels were maintained throughout, although not all managed to battle their way through the toffee.
