Air Raid in the Year 3 Classroom
‘What’s that noise?’
‘It’s an air raid siren!’
Quickly, Year 3 took cover in the air raid shelter in Mrs Webster’s classroom. As they shone torches at each other in the darkness, the rumble of aircraft engines and bombs falling in the distance filled their ears. Then as quickly as it had started, the all clear siren sounded. The air raid warden (Mr Blake) checked that it was safe to emerge from the shelter.
Year 3 were then asked questions about their thoughts and how they would have felt in a real air raid during World War 2. The children all enjoyed their very immersive piece of topic work.
