Year 3 Trip to Peterborough Museum

02 Mar 2015

On Thursday 26 February Year 3 enjoyed a visit to Peterborough Museum to learn about World War II and life in the 1940s.  All the children were dressed as evacuees and looked stunning in their outfits.  During the morning we enjoyed a tour of Peterborough and learned about many stories and how places in Peterborough were used during the Second World War.  Even the rain didn’t dampen the children’s interest and enthusiasm.

In the afternoon the children learned about the many and varied items which a soldier had to carry around.  We were very excited to handle some rifles and a grenade!  The trip ended with a visit to the underground bomb shelter where we learned about air raids and gas masks.

Everyone had a fantastic trip.
