WITHAM HALL PUPIL JOINS LONDON CHILDREN’S OPERA COMPANY

07 Oct 2015

We are proud to announce that Sammie Stokes, Year 6 pupil, has been offered a place in the prestigious London Children’s Opera Company following a successful audition last month. Sammie has long enjoyed singing and acting, and his talents have featured in the last two school productions. Mrs Holland and Ms Holderness (Sammie’s drama and singing teachers) are thrilled at his success.

The LCOC is a children's opera and music theatre company based in Covent Garden. The company holds weekly classes and courses throughout the year for youngsters aged 7 to 16 to work with music theatre and opera professionals on new and challenging operas for children, as well as established children's operas and popular musicals. LCOC also auditions children for major opera companies and for West End shows.

Sammie will be involved in the following exciting future projects with the company:

·         Concert at St. Peter's church, Belgravia, London in December

·         Professional production of Britten’s "Noye's Fludde" at St Paul's church, Covent Garden in January

·         Recording a CD for 'Help for Heroes' at the Abbey Road studio

·         Performing at Opera Holland Park 2016.

Congratulations to Sammie on his success, and we wish him all the best in his work with LCOC.
