Armistice Day commemorated at Witham Hall

12 Nov 2015

At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, the Witham Hall community, along with visitors from The Bythams School, stood for two minutes’ silence to honour the dead of two world wars and other conflicts, including Old Withamian Lieutenant Edward Drummond-Baxter  of the 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles, killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday 30 October 2012. Alfie Buik and Frankie Atkinson’s trumpet solos in the Last Post and The Reveille rang out over the hushed courtyard packed with pupils, teaching staff, maintenance and catering teams, and the Headmaster led the assembly with readings and prayers.
