Year 3 and 4 Egyptian Day!
13 Nov 2015
On Thursday 12th November, Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic day learning about Egyptian life. In the morning the children took part in a wide range of practical activities including making canopic jars, perfume waxes, soap, Egyptian pictures, amulets and miniature mummies. In the afternoon, the Stimson Hall became an Egyptian celebration of the flooding of the Nile, with the children taking on the roles of peasants, slaves, royalty, actors, dancers and slaves. We all had a wonderful time watching the entertainment whilst feasting on grapes, cheese, bread, dates, figs and ‘wine’ and by the end of the day we all had a good idea of what it felt like to be an Egyptian in ancient times.
