A1 Mathematics Challenge
11 Oct 2016
On Monday 10th October Witham Hall hosted the 5th A1 Mathematics challenge. Teams from Wellow House, Burton Hathow and St Hugh’s came to compete in a day of different mathematical challenges. Witham hall entered two teams as did St Hugh’s and Wellow House. The children had to decide whether to work as a team of 4, as pairs or individually on the questions set. The children has several timed challenges including a ‘Countdown’ style find the number, where bonus points were available if they found the answer within a minute. One Witham Hall team came first scoring 226 points, Wellow House came second scoring 151 points and the other Witham Hall team was third scoring 149 points. It was a lovely day and the level of Mathematics was very high. Well done to Alex Spragg, Felix Starkey, Richard Tomlinson and Chalie Rymer for their first place and Ffion Trundell, Holly Upton, Kit Parkinson and Eddie Howells for their third place.
