RSCM YoungVoices Festival

15 Nov 2016

The whole of year 5 participated last week in a fantastic choral festival at All Saints, Peterborough, organised by the Royal School of Church Music. Led by Rosemary Field (Deputy Director of the RSCM) they rehearsed a selection of pieces, all themed around the rights enshrined in the Magna Carta, the 800th Anniversary of which fell last year. The day concluded with a service, with the readings and prayers presented by the children and some of the adults, and we were pleased to welcome several parents who came along to hear the fruits of the children’s labours. The children had put a lot of work in on the repertoire beforehand and Mrs Field and other organisers commented on both the excellent standard of singing and also the great potential in evidence amongst the children. The children were accompanied on the organ by Andrew Moodie, RSCM Southern Area co-ordinator, who also complimented the singers on their high standard. We are very proud of the children and know that they will continue to work hard to develop their vocal skills in the coming months!
