Children excel in production of King Lear at the Key Theatre
16 Oct 2014
Our cast of King Lear took to the stage at 7:00 pm Wednesday night in front of a sell-out audience at the Key Theatre in Peterborough. Their performance was the opening act in a four-Shakespeare billing and was definitely one of the highlights of the night. Showing incredible self-confidence and team spirit, each child rose to the challenge of performing this demanding play with an incredible ease that belied their years.
In his summing up at the end of the evening, the Shakespeare Schools Festival Director praised our cast for the clarity of their delivery and their story-telling, the way they worked together as an ensemble, their use of the performance space, their focus and constant reactions to the action. Particular mention was given to the musicians who devised all the music in the play with Ms Forbes and who on the day added so much to the atmosphere. Praise was also given to our tech team who ensured the show ran smoothly from the lighting box.
There are some very proud teachers and no doubt parents too!
