U10A to Witham Hall U10A Tournament

  • WHS  6 – 0  Laxton
  • WHS  5 – 2   Kimbolton
  • WHS   11 -  0   Foremarke Hall
  • WHS   7 – 0   Wellingborough

The U10A Netball team played exceptional well at the annual U10A Witham Hall Netball Tournament winning all four of their matches making them the tournament winners. In all of their four matches they worked hard passing the ball accurately to each other and dominating much of the play. The girls scored 29 goals and only 2 goals were conceded throughout the tournament. This reflects how well our defence played keeping the ball out of our opponents attacking circle and their ability to make well timed interceptions when required. The mid court players moved into space to receive the ball linking it up the court to our shooters who were able to score some fantastic goals from some tricky distances. A superb afternoon of netball and the girls should be extremely proud of their achievement. Very well done girls!

U10B to Witham Hall U10B Tournament

The U10B team had a wonderful afternoon of netball on the top courts, enjoying the winter sunshine. The Witham team narrowly lost against Laxton by just one goal in what was a great game of netball. The girls beat Foremarke, Wellingborough and Morton, demonstrating some lovely skills and team work. Unfortunately we lost to Kimbolton, but still ended up placing 3rd overall. The afternoon was all about enjoying netball and working together as a team, and the U10B team certainly did that – well done girls!

2nd VII v Stamford High School 2nd VII

  • WHS – 18
  • SHS – 17

This was an extremely tight game resulting in a narrow victory for Witham. Witham started the stronger with the shooters finding their range straight away having a five goal lead after the first quarter. Stamford scored more freely in the second quarter but Witham maintained their lead. Stamford came back due to changes in positions within the Witham team to increase the pressure. The final quarter was nail biting with Stamford taking the lead at one point but some excellent shooting made sure of a narrow victory. The whole team played very well and deserved their win.
