U9/8 Inter-House Rugby:

1st Maitland

2nd Tate

3rd Banks

4th Lyons

On Friday morning Witham held its annual U9/8 rugby Inter-house competition. On a glorious sunny day the boys played some excellent rugby, with all the house teams showing good team work, strong tackling and accurate passing of the rugby ball throughout. By the end of the morning, we saw Maitland play Tate in the final with both teams battling hard to win the trophy and the overall competition. In what was a nail biting finish, we saw Tate take the lead with one minute to go but then have victory taken away from them with an incredibly late Maitland try to draw the match 20-20. Maitland had won the overall competition on point’s difference. A big thank you must go to all the parents who came to support the children and cheer them on.

The young year 3&4 girls really impressed with the progress that they have made with their skills this term. All the matches were close and teams made sure that the ball was shared around ensuring that all players felt involved in the play. Well done to Banks who won but equally well done to the girls in the other teams who made sure that this was a finely contested competition.
