WHS  4 – 1  Grace Dieu
WHS  7 – 3  Leicester Grammar JS
WHS  7 – 1  Stoneygate
WHS 13 – 3  Fairfield

On a glorious sunny Spring afternoon the U10A Netball team took part in a tournament held at Leicester Grammar JS. They started strongly in their first match against Ratcliffe College quickly finding their rhythm and dominating much of the play winning 9 – 1. The second match against Grace Dieu started a little slowly but the girls persevered and with accurate passing and tight marking the girls won this match 4 – 1. The next match against Leicester Grammar JS started with the ball moving from one end of the court to the other. No sooner had one team scored, then the other team replied with a goal to level the scores. With a few careless mistakes from our opponents and some superb interceptions and outstanding shooting the girls crept ahead winning 7 – 3. This momentum continued in their fourth match against Stoneygate and again with some excellent passing through the thirds and some fantastic shooting from the edge of the circle, the girls won 7 – 1. In the final match against Fairfield the girls worked hard and as in previous matches the centre pass routines worked beautifully as did the backline pass routine. The girls kept the pressure on throughout the match and were rewarded with a 13 – 3 win. With a clean sweep of wins the girls were victorious in winning the tournament. They were presented with a trophy and certificates. Very well done to all of you, we are all very proud of you!

U10B to Leicester Grammar JS Tournament

The U10B team played superbly in each of the three matches they played in the Leicester Grammar JS tournament. The team spirit that the girls displayed was something to be commended. This allowed them to work together and as a result the flow and movement of the game was often in their favour. Due to this team work, the girls won the whole tournament. Izzie and Alexandra worked in tandem in the goal circle, providing the team with consistent and accurate shooting, which greatly aided the team to victory. With strong competition, the girls were a force to be reckoned with, working hard to defend and protect the goal, and as a result, only 5 goals scored against them in the whole tournament.

Each girl should be extremely proud of themselves. The positivity and enthusiasm shown by everyone is to be congratulated.
