U12A v Worksop College 1st IX

Witham Hall – 26

Worksop – 7

On a glorious warm Wednesday afternoon the U12A Rounders team played superbly against Worksop College. From the start Witham performed their fielding innings with skill and tactical awareness limiting our opponent’s opportunities to score. Witham’s first batting innings saw many full and half rounders being scored, taking advantage of some miss fielding from Worksop. At the end of the first innings Witham had a health lead of 13 ½ - 4 ½ rounders. Worksop struggled to increase their total in the second innings and a special mention must go to Lulie, Bonnie and Mia who between them dismissed 4 successive batters. Witham’s confidence continued to grow in their second batting innings resulting in a further 12 ½ rounders being scored. Sienna was the highest scorer of the match and Worksop voted her a ‘player of the match’, well done Sienna. The final score 26 – 7 demonstrates how well our girls played. A fantastic game, very well done girls!

3rd IX v Worksop College 2nd IX

Witham Hall – 27 ½
Worksop – 8

The 3rd IX rounders girls had a brilliant game against Worksop. Demonstrating fantastic sportsmanship and showing improvements in all areas of the game. Jemima was the player of the match, scoring rounder after rounder in bat and also delivering some accurate and hard bowls when fielding. Every member of the team managed to score and there was a real sense of team spirit. The Witham girls played with greater enthusiasm than Worksop and demonstrated a good grasp of the basic rounders skills.

U11A v Stamford JS U11A

Witham 13
Stamford 5 ½

The U11A girls had a strong win v Stamford JS. There was lots of good work in the field from the whole team with catches from Charlotte, Rose A, Matilda C and Millie; some excellent work from the triangle with a good variety of bowling from Matilda, Sophie and Poppy. Charlotte W had a good outing on promotion from the B team hitting every ball and scoring a good half; Matilda H also impressed on her promotion scoring 1 ½. Scoring was consistent through the whole team. Well done!

U11B v Stamford JS U11B

Witham Hall – 11 ½
Stamford  – 3 ½

Witham had a large U11B team, with 13 squad members which was superb! Captain Eleanor won the toss and Stamford went into bat. Witham fielded absolutely spot on and I couldn’t fault their team work, communication, backing up and wonderful team spirit throughout. Witham kept the score down with sensational batting by Mollie and tight back stop fielding by Matilda. After 30 balls, Stamford scored just 2 rounders. Witham went into bat and unfortunately didn’t get off to a good start, with a few mistakes, but soon got our eye in after 10 balls bowled.  The half rounders started to creep up and Witham were connecting with the bat.  After 30 balls the score was Witham 5 ½ to Stamford 2.

Stamford went back into bat and this time scored 1 ½ rounder, giving Witham the win.  Our fielding set up was fantastic and the whole team worked together to bring success.  Witham went in for a final bat and scored a further 6 rounders bringing the final score to Witham 11 ½ to Stamford 3 ½ -well done to all the girls!
