Miss Hard and Miss Crowe teach the Year 2 classes. They enjoy a full range of subjects, which cover a range of topics such as The Plague and the Great Fire of London, Inventors, Food Technology, Recycling, Seaside, Bog Babies and Robin Hood. We enhance the children’s learning by making trips outside the school environment such as to Rutland Water Nature Reserve and Stibbington Education Centre. We also welcome in visitors such as the Partake Theatre Company who are based in our region.
The pupils also join in with a range of after-school clubs such as Bush craft, Yoga, Games, Kickboxing, Ukulele and Short Tennis. Some enjoy attending the specialised music lessons for piano, guitar, drums, drama and singing.
During this year each child is encouraged to develop their social, emotional and intellectual skills and we aim to increase their independence within the school environment as the children take on more responsibility for their learning. The emphasis remains on enjoyment and building on the child’s natural interest in learning.
