Entry Procedure

For entry to Reception, places are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis. When all places are taken, a waiting list is formed. In Reception there is one class of 19 pupils maximum and in Year 1 two classes of 14 pupils maximum. In Years 2 and 3, there are two classes of 15 pupils maximum.

Year groups in the Prep School total 36, split across two classes. Children from the Pre-Prep will normally automatically pass in to the Prep department. If the academic rigours of the Prep department seem unsuited to the child, the parent will be informed well in advance. This is not a common occurrence. The preferred age of entry to the Prep department is when a child is 8, although later entries can always be considered. New pupils to the school take a standardised entry test.

All pupils must be registered for entry to the School through the completion of a formal Registration Form. At this stage we also ask for payment of a £100 registration fee.

During the Winter Term of the academic year prior to entry parents are asked to complete an Acceptance Form to accept the offer of a place for their child based on the terms and conditions within it. At this point we ask for a deposit of £1,250 to secure the place. This is then credited against the last account payable, with any surplus refunded.
